Ruth’s House Emergency Shelter

On May 18th, 2009, we opened Ruth’s House, a short term, one-family shelter, which at the time was the only emergency domestic violence shelter available to women and children in Bonner county.

In 2011, with your support, we purchased a house on auction and moved our shelter to a new location, a large 2 bedroom, 1 bath house with a basement.

Since then, we have moved Ruth’s house (again) for the sake of anonymity. It is still fully functional and housing families in crisis in our area. We have been fortunate enough to procure a second emergency shelter, mainly housing smaller families and singles.

Many volunteers, community members, businesses and churches helped to launch this shelter, and continue to provide for its continuing operation. We’d love to tell you more about how you can help, too! For more information about our shelters, call our office at 208.448.2800.
